In a surprise move, but a more than welcome one, one of Thailand cinemas biggest hits of past years, "Fan Chan" or "My Girl" has been re-released on DVD. Now the special part here is that it has been released with English subtitles this time.

Normally, Thai movies released on DVD in Thailand do not have any subtitles. This is because the film studios do not want to eradicate their chances to sell their movies Internationally. If there is cheap English subtitled DVD exports from Thailand flooding the markets, then it will be very hard to find any distributors in other countries.

But mabye the movie is old enough already that it is possible now. Anyway, Fan Can is very recommendable if you like "light" comedy and the teenage actors of the movie are excellent.
